Nature has given us an abundance of ways to stay healthy. Today, I have a wellness tip for you. Wintergreen essential oil, and more common alternatives like peppermint and eucalyptus, can be used with adhesive bandages in simple ways to support daily wellness. Always dilute essential oils with a carrier oil, such as coconut or jojoba, before applying to the skin to avoid irritation. For nasal congestion, apply 2–3 drops of diluted oil mix to the cotton pad of a bandage, and place it on the bridge of the nose to help clear blocked or runny noses. To soothe coughs and sore throats in cold weather, stick an oil-soaked bandage just below the neck near the Adam’s apple to keep the area warm and reduce discomfort. To prevent motion sickness, add 1–2 drops of diluted peppermint oil to a bandage and attach it to the inner wrist about 15–20 minutes before traveling. For mosquito repellent and deodorizing, you can place a scented bandage on the front of a fan.
It’s joke time! Sit back, enjoy, and get ready for a laugh with today’s gem, it’s called… “Consolation Prize.”
Lindsey walks in from school, looking upset.
“What’s wrong?”
“We had a contest today... and I got the most votes from my classmates and won first place.”
“First place? That’s amazing! But why the long face? Is it because the school year is over?”
“It was first place for who is least likely to graduate from college.”
