I have a health tip for you today. Be sure to steer clear of the following poisonous mushrooms: Destroying angel, Death cap, False parasol, Deadly galerina, Jack-o’-lantern, Sulphur tuft, and Earthball mushrooms. What makes it tricky is that many edible species closely resemble toxic ones that only a specialist can identify one from the other. Familiarize yourself with the various forms of mushrooms at different stages of development, in addition to their edible look-alikes. If you don’t recognize a certain species, double-check them carefully, particularly looking out for a similar poisonous variety. If you have any doubt, consult an expert or toss it out. You should not consume raw wild fungi as some are poisonous if eaten raw. Examples of these include Amanita rubescens, Wood blewit, the Blusher, Lepista nuda, or the species of Helvella.
