For example, if you are a wife, married to a husband, and you refuse to cook (animal-people) meat for him, the family harmony would be shaken, understand? He may even force you to cook (animal-people) meat; that is a different case. In your case, you choose to kill the chicken(-people) and pig(-people), and then serve their flesh to others. These two situations are different. But I tell you frankly: even if she buys (animal-people) meat and fish(-people) for her husband to eat, those whose Heavenly Eyes are open would see demons beating her. Each time she goes to the market to buy (animal-people) meat and fish(-people), she is beaten up by demons and falls to the ground. Then she crawls up and goes home to cook.
Because she has no choice. In this case, God will forgive her; she just gets beaten up by demons. But you have choice. It’s not the customers, not the Spanish people, who forced you to cook (animal-people) meat for them. It’s you yourselves who want to make money. If we earn our money in a pure way, what we eat will be easier to digest, and we won’t carry feelings of guilt. If I say it’s OK, then it’s fine. But your guilty conscience won’t leave you. After you’ve cultivated well, sometimes, when you see (animal-people) meat, the pig- and chicken(-people) will come to bite you, and you won’t be able to practice well. Then you will get sick every day. The money you earned from selling (animal-people) meat, you end up giving it to the doctor anyway — it’s the same. So, in the end, you gain no true benefit.
I tell you frankly, that’s why those who sell (animal-people) meat and fish(-people), develop sicknesses that are incurable. Even doctors cannot save them. Because the money they earned must be spent. Not only will it be spent in this world — after we die, we will also be barbecued in hell. Because we barbecue (animal-people) meat here, that cause bears fruit down there. We will be barbecued the same way. So, hell does exist. If we don’t do bad things, there is no hell. Hell is created by ourselves.
Please read the questions in Spanish first. (“It’s easy to understand the positive force of development. In what ways does it help with the negative forces? Could You give examples of negative forces of development?”)
(“Master, this is my question. It’s very easy for me to understand the positive force that You mentioned. But will You please explain under what kind of situations can this Positive Power help us? I’ve already heard You cite many examples just now. Could You please give one more example to help me understand?”) How does the Positive Power help us, right? OK. In this world, this Positive Power works very hard, but we feel as if it doesn’t help much. Actually, it does help.
For example, when we ourselves develop this positive force and make use of it, at that time, we feel very happy. Suppose you see a person who is poor and sick, with no one to care for him. Suddenly you feel sympathy, and give him some money, taking care of him for a while. Oh! Then you feel very good, right? That is the Positive Power helping that person and yourself. It’s not something you can see or feel immediately. Later, when you fall ill, others will help you even more — ten times more than how you once helped others. Say you give someone a hundred dollars. Later, when you’re sick, others may give you ten thousand dollars. Or if you’re not sick, but you often help sick people, then you yourself won’t fall ill. That’s how the Positive Power helps us.
However, we rarely make use of this Positive Power, because we are too weak and are controlled by the negative power. That’s why we need a living Enlightened Master in the world, to help us open the faucet of the greatest source of Positive Power. It is like a faucet that is broken: now it only drips, drop by drop each day. The Master repairs it, and once it’s opened — “Wow!” — there’s so much water, inexhaustible. Later on, we won’t even need to keep turning it on. It already has abundant water by itself, so there’s no need to repair it, no need to wait for it to drip out drop by drop, getting only a little after an entire day. With the faucet fully opened, the water flows plentifully.
The Positive Power is within us. For example, after initiation, you can communicate daily with God, or with your Buddha Nature, with the Buddha. You may see Lord Jesus Christ, the Buddha, or Quan Yin Bodhisattva. At that time, we see Them face to face, and can ask Them anything. Whatever we request will come true immediately. Once we are connected with the Greatest Power, we have endless blessings to use. That is the true Positive Power. From then on, It takes care of our souls, and in this world, It also takes care of our lives. Everything will be well, everything will be good.
The Quan Yin Method heals all illnesses — sicknesses from vexations, ignorance, greed, anger, and stupidity; it heals karmic illnesses leading to hell, hungry ghosts, and animal(-people) rebirths. We can only go to Heaven, to the Buddha’s Land. We cannot fall into hell again, nor return to suffer as humans — unless we choose it ourselves. If we wish to come back to help others, we may be reborn as humans. But it’s voluntary, not forced by karmic retribution, unlike those bound by reincarnation, suffering, and ignorance. The Positive Power is something incredible.
Before it is opened, we feel much suffering and loneliness. Once opened, ah! We feel greater and greater, more powerful, more contented, more joyful, lacking nothing. We no longer have attachment to the world, to its material things, and so we can easily let go of the world. Now, this Positive Power within you has not yet been opened. So even if I speak for half a year, you still may not understand very well. It will be opened during initiation. Once it’s opened, every day you will understand. Every day you’ll know how this Positive Power helps us, OK? Now, since it isn’t opened yet, what can I say? For example, you don’t have money, so you don’t know what to buy. When you have money, you’ll know. You can buy bread, tofu, wheat gluten, or even get married.
(Master, just now You explained about the Positive Power. Could You please also explain how the negative force can help us?) The negative force can also help us if we can overcome it. For example, everyone says money is the greatest temptation. It makes people kill, causes couples to divorce, separates brothers and sisters, makes families quarrel. Money tempts many people. It makes many people resort to bribery, makes officials corrupt, and makes many good people turn bad. But if we know how to use money, the more money we have, the better. No problem! Is that not so? For a greedy person, someone controlled by money, the more he has, the greedier he becomes. But for someone who can control it, who has no attachment to money, he uses it freely, naturally. If he has plenty of money, that’s very good. He can help the poor, orphans, widows; he can build hospitals to help the sick. Therefore, money is not bad at all. As for the negative power, it’s like electricity. I’ve told you earlier: electricity has two poles. One is positive, the other negative. Without the negative pole, a lamp cannot light up. So, the Positive Power and the negative power are actually the same power, just performing different functions. Because we don’t know how to use it, it turns into something bad. That’s why we need an Enlightened Master to teach us how to transform this negative power into something beneficial for us.
After practicing the Quan Yin Method, you’ll understand. Originally there’s no good or bad, no positive or negative. It’s just that we see it differently, because we don’t understand. To someone who isn’t enlightened, even Positive Power may not be good. He doesn’t know how to use it, so he may misuse it. For example, if he is not enlightened, when he meets someone very kind and generous, he may take advantage of that kindness and borrow money from him, and then just uses it to drink and gamble, etc. But once a person is enlightened, even negative power can be turned into something useful.
(“Master, getting initiation is a very serious matter.”) Yes. (“But I cannot make up my mind now. If one day I decide to get initiation, could Master’s transcendental body come to teach me?”) No. When Master comes in a transcendental body, you cannot see it. Even now, with my physical body here, you don’t want to follow. How much less with a transcendental body? A transcendental body is formless, without density. Even when my physical body speaks, you don’t listen — so how could you listen to the formless one?
You won’t see my transcendental body; it’s not that easy to see it. If everyone could see my transcendental body, then I wouldn’t need to use this physical body. I could just remain in Nirvana and send transcendental bodies out to teach. When Shakyamuni Buddha was alive, it was said He had billions of transcendental bodies, yet He still had to work hard, traveling around. He didn’t just sit under the Bodhi tree and send His transcendental bodies out. It is easier for my disciples to see my transcendental body. But you haven’t received initiation, and your karma has not been cleansed. It’s difficult for you to see it. Even if She comes, you won’t see Her. It’s not that I discriminate. It’s just that you are covered by karmic obstacles. It’s like you are wearing a raincoat. When it rains, the water cannot reach you. It’s not that the rain refuses to fall, but because your raincoat is too thick, so the water cannot get through.
(“Master, if one keeps the Five Precepts but doesn’t practice the Quan Yin Method, can he still transcend the Third Realm?”) No. No. Even the cow(-people) keep the Five Precepts! They are also… They are vegan from birth, they only contribute, they eat only grass, without troubling anyone. They don’t kill, steal, or lie. And they don’t even speak a word! But they still cannot transcend the Three Realms. I’m sorry.
Precepts only help us to be more stable, and prevent us from creating new karma. But the Quan Yin Method is a kind of Power that brings us Home. Like an airplane — if you buy the ticket but don’t board the plane, it’s useless. Just buying the ticket isn’t enough.
(“Master, in order to make a living, we have to work to support ourselves in this world. If we engage in speculative business, such as buying and selling stocks or real estate, does it also create karma? And for housewives who cook [animal-people] meat meals for their families, can they be initiated?”) Yes, they can. Stock trading, or buying and selling houses is no problem. That’s just part of making a living. Selling houses does not involve killing — only “killing” a few bricks.
What I mean is, any job that involves killing is not good for your spiritual practice. Because if you practice only a little, but create a lot of karma, then it’s futile. It’s like having only a glass of water while your clothes are very dirty. Every day you roll around in dust making yourself dirtier, and you only have a glass of water. When can your clothes ever become clean? It’s futile — no need to wash. Just leave it dirty like that. What can one glass of water clean? Before you can wash, you collect more dust each day. With only one glass of water, it won’t work, OK? That’s why I say you must keep the precepts strictly, to truly benefit your spiritual practice. Otherwise, forget it — don’t do it.
