(Next up on the second program – we’re taking you on a trip around the world, and now we’ve come to Thailand. The Sukhothai Dance by Thai initiates.) (We know that almost all Thai people believe in Buddhism. The Thai dance just now, you see how beautiful their final gesture with palms pressed together was. And during the dance, did you understand the meaning of their hand gestures? Those gestures: “earn three dollars,” “spend five dollars” – that’s alright. A very beautiful dance. Next, let’s invite fellow initiates from Japan to give us a brilliant performance: “Hanagasa Ondo Dance.” After enjoying these three dances, let’s enjoy a vocal solo. Our fellow initiate from the USA brings us “When Love Rules Again.” Let’s welcome with warm applause.)(Speaking of the United States, I watched the TV news yesterday and saw the U.S. President laugh to tears on the spot. This is good news. Just now, we also received the congratulatory message from President Clinton for Supreme Master Ching Hai Day. What’s the news I’ve just mentioned? We know that recently, the United States hosted a summit of United Nations leaders worldwide. One of the topics which attracted the most attention was the signing of an agreement to extend the global Non-Proliferation Treaty [NPT]. The leaders of both America and Russia negotiated the extension of the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). Before the negotiation even began, the global media were all saying that this round of negotiations between the two probably nothing would be achieved. Unexpectedly, the negotiation of the extension of the Non-Proliferation Treaty [NPT] was successfully signed, which means they will not use nuclear weapons. And then the Russian President, Mr. Yeltsin, gave a speech to the world leaders and media. He said to the press: “Before we began negotiations and signed the agreement, the media said our talks would achieve nothing. But now, I tell you: you are the ones who have achieved nothing.” Upon hearing this, Mr. Clinton, who was standing nearby, laughed loudly on the spot, even to tears. I was very touched by seeing that. If, in the future, the leaders of every nation could conduct negotiations with such joy, and make decisions that contribute so much to all of humanity and so helpful to world peace, then how wonderful our world would be. We also wish that from now on, there’ll be no more cold war, hot war, threats or intimidation, all these kinds of actions. It should be like the song today, “When Love Rules Again.” We also wish that from today’s Supreme Master Ching Hai Day onward, our leaders of the whole world all can take this kind of good actions.)
